Limb Reconstruction fellowship

Queen Elizabeth University Hospital: Glasgow

The QEUH is the regional referral centre for limb reconstruction. We care for patients with bone infection, deformity, non-union, mal-union, sequelae of congenital deformity, leg length discrepancy and acute trauma. We apply in excess of 100 circular frames per annum, both ilizarov and hexapod, in addition to internal fixation strategies. This service is provided in close cooperation with our colleagues from plastic surgery, microbiology and infectious diseases. Fellows working in this service will also gain a broad exposure to major trauma.

The fellowship is associated with the RCPSG and fellows will have an active role within the College including, but not limited to, education and research. You will work primarily with 4 full time Limb Reconstruction Consultants: Mr. Bilal Jamal, Mr. David Shields, Mr. Christopher Crome and Mr. Alistair Macey.

The Fellow will work as part of a 23 person middle grade rota, with on call and night shift commitments contributing to a 50% banding.

We offer 6 month or 1 year fellowships, starting August or February. The post is advertised through NHS Jobs Scotland, however informal enquires are encouraged. You are invited to contact Mr Chris Crome (christopher.crome@ggc.scot.nhs.uk)
