BLRS Travel Bursaries
The BLRS awards two travel bursaries each year to further members’ expertise in Limb Reconstruction:
Submissions take place by 1st September per Calendar year. Applications will be considered at the BLRS Executive Committee Meeting at the BOA
Please submit:
Your CV and a Letter of Intent to blrs.secretary@gmail.com
Guidelines for the applicants
Firstly, the purpose of the bursary is to support a short elective, fellowship or sabbatical such as a visit to a limb reconstruction unit (for example to learn a new technique.) The executive was unanimous that it should not be merely another source of study leave type funding, and applications to attend a conference or course in the UK or abroad will be declined.
Secondly, applications should be submitted via the secretary who will forward it to the committee. The application should include a CV and a Statement of Intent including travel plan and the likely benefit to both the member and his/her local hospital. We expect any successful applicant to give a presentation about their experience at the next following BLRS meeting and a write up for the website about the visit.
Finally, the bursary may be split between two or more applicants at the discretion of the committee. If a committee member is applying, they would not take part in the decision-making process.
